This certificate program provides foundational training for Christians, and is designed especially with church lay leaders in mind.

Students will survey the Bible, Church History, Theology, and acquire basic Biblical Interpretation skills.

The core competencies for this certificate include:

  • General comprehension of both Old and New Testaments
  • Essential Bible interpretation skills
  • Overview of the history of the Church
  • Fundamental knowledge of Christian doctrine
  • Basic understanding of Christian worldview and its relationship to Christian living

Institute Track

The BibleMesh Insitute certificate track is designed for seminarians and pastors-in-training, who want to receive academic credit for coursework and are looking to transfer credits to a college or seminary to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree. Students must apply to the BibleMesh Institute and be accepted before starting the program.

Old Testament Survey

  • This course is based on the A Survey of the Old Testament textbook co-authored by Andrew E. Hill and John H. Walton. Part indispensable overview and part careful examination, this Old Testament Survey course introduces students to the culture, context, and content of each book in the Old Testament.

  • This course is based on A Survey of the New Testament, 5th edition authored by Robert H. Gundry. Including both background information and careful attention to the biblical books themselves, NT Survey offers a full introduction to the 27 books of the New Testament.

Biblical Interpretation

  • Based on the popular textbook Grasping God’s Word by Old Testament scholar J. Daniel Hays and New Testament expert J. Scott Duvall, this course provides a simple and clear introduction to reading the Word of God carefully and in context, interpreting it, and then applying it faithfully.

Elective: Church History or Historical Theology

  • Church History: This course offers an introduction to church history that integrates the events and developments of the church with the social, economic, and intellectual history of the broader world around it.
  • Historical Theology: Rather than following the history of Christianity and presenting various doctrines as they arise, this course traces the development of vital Christian theology topic by topic.

Students enroll in the BibleMesh Institute on a subscription basis. The monthly cost for each BibleMesh Institute course is $280 per month. The length of time to complete a course varies depending on each student’s situation, but averages 3 months for dedicated students.

To provide the highest quality online learning experience and to meet academic standards, the BibleMesh Institute assigns each student an academic tutor for each course. All of our proctors (academic tutors) are highly qualified in their subject field.

Yes. Each course is provided with month-to-month access to better fit your situation. You may work through and complete a course as your schedule allows, while your academic tutor guides you to ensure competency and mastery of the content. You may take as much time as you wish to complete an individual course or a certificate program.

In order to complete a certificate program, students must complete every course within that program. Some certificates, like the Biblical Languages certificate, do require courses to be completed in a specific sequence. If you need to pause your studies, you can; your progress and grades will not be lost. You can simply renew your monthly course subscription and resume from where you left off.

Yes, anyone can take the six courses listed in the General Christian Studies track.

Upon finishing all the courses in a certificate program, you may apply for and receive a certificate.

When scholarships are available they are initially available to students already studying in the BibleMesh Institute.

Yes. Several partnering colleges and seminaries provide academic pathways using courses and programs offered through the Institute. Credit-bearing courses provided through the BibleMesh Institute are built to accreditation standards.
